Using the main window

The main window presents a single editable text field (labeled IR Code) where you can type in or paste your IR code. The supported format is the HEX displayed format such as used in Pronto Edit and such applications. For instance 5000 006D 0000 0001 0008 0009 is a valid representation of an RC5 code.

When a valid code is recognized, the text is displayed in black (or green, see below), its code type and its frequency is also displayed in the information section (the read-only region below). If the code is not recognized as valid, it displays in red. In the licensed version, if the code can be converted to a canonical form, it is displayed in green.

If the code is in raw format, a graphical representation of the IR waveform (without the carrier) is displayed in the lower part of the window. Using the zoom slider on the right of this graph, you can change the scale used for drawing, allowing you to have an overview of the whole code or clearly see a particular time window.

In the licensed version, you can also place the mouse over the IR waveform graph and it will display the timing information. By dragging over a portion of the IR waveform, additional duration information is displayed.

Right-clicking in the IR Code fields gives access the context menu allowing you to perform several operations on the IR code. Those operations are described in their respective sections of this help.
